Module: Corporate Governance 101

Module Description: The course provides an in-depth overview on governance matters, which is designed to educate participants on various aspects of governance, institutional requirements, and business processes. The programme is structured into eight modules, each focusing on a specific area: 1. SSM and the Basics: Covers the types of companies and registrations, and the importance of registering with SSM. 2. Institutional Requirements: Discusses the roles of various government agencies like EPF, LHDN, SOCSO, and their impact on businesses. 3. Licenses and You: Explains the different types of licenses required for businesses in Malaysia and the process of obtaining them. 4. Finance and Processes Governance: Focuses on financial statements, finance approvals, and processes to safeguard business finances. 5. Human Resources: Covers HR processes, including recruitment, training, and compliance with relevant legislation. 6. Legal Matters: Discusses legal concepts, contracts, and compliance with laws like PDPA and AMLA. 7. Boards and Directors: Explains the roles and responsibilities of directors and shareholders, and how to handle disputes. 8. Performance and KPIs: Provides insights on setting standards and KPIs for performance, sales, and targets.
